Craft, cream soda and Clair!

Yesterday I met up with the fabulous Clair :-) I am *so* enjoying having a local craft-minded friend to meet with, chat with, eat with and create with!

Clair would have been very welcome anyway, but she was lovely enough to bring some gifts: Easter eggs ready for The Children, cream soda, lemon drizzle muffins, and this gorgeous bag:

The bag was a project we began last time we met up, and when we ran out of time Clair kindly offered to finish it off - which she did even beyond our original plan! I *love* my new bag!! It's perfect for throwing in the essential keys, camera, phone (as discussed here) and is such a cheerful colour and pattern :-) I'd have photographed the muffins too but I kind of forgot - was too keen to eat them, ahem...

We worked on a project by Evalicious; I got the kit to make her 'Sew Grateful' minibook a while back and hadn't gotten around to actually doing anything with it, and Clair had similarly bought the pdf of instructions, intending to use her own supplies to make a minibook, but hadn't yet done so! As I had the kit ready and as Clair is very selfless and generous and giving, we spent today just working on my minibook and Clair plans to do hers back at her place. I stitched some of the fabric and chipboard pages together and decorated a couple of journaling papers, while Clair (sewing machine expert) advised me and worked on some of the kit's embellishments for me. Here's what's ready so far:

She also had a play with some of my beads and ribbon and made me these beautiful extras:

Aren't they just the cutest?!

I love this photo of the beads, although I haven't yet had a chance to adjust the levels ('cos PSE is a bit of a faff to load up, long story) - the tablecloth should be white!

So now I need to choose some photos and finish putting the book together before my next craft session with Clair - 'cos that's the deadline she's set me! Just so long as you meet your own target by then too, lovely, OK? I shall be checking... ;-)

Loving the beads!
How beautiful are those little flowers she made?!
When you have finished with her, can you send her over here please? ;-)

Sounds like you had fun Mel, I really want to join a crop but there are not any locally. I might have a chat with my scrapping cousin!

Such a selfless, generous, giving friend. Aren't those the exact words I told you to use yesterday? :)

My local crop stopped almost 2 years ago, due to lack of interest...I went every time, but it wasn't enough! :( Lucky you having someone locally.

Yay! It's lovely to have a friend to craft with.
My next door neighbour is a card maker and crafter. She came in on Tuesday afternoon, to "play" in my new studio. We were looking at all my stuff and playing with a mini-album project she wants to make as a present.
It was just such an enjoyable hour or so... I hope she can come again soon!
I'm also a member of a new Scrap Club that started about 3 or 4 months ago. We used to meet in the next village, but now I've managed to book us the small room at the village hall here. We meet again next weekend.. I'm looking forward to it.

The more I hear about Clair, the more I'm convinced our country needs to import her.

I'm getting together with two friends on Monday. We used to craft together, but ran out of time for it when we were all working. Now we meet once or twice a month. So much fun to share with others who love to craft as well. LOVE the look of the minibook.
