Hooray for blue skies and sunshine!!

It was still pretty cold though, so for breakfast I had porridge. Made the way I like it, with just oats and water, no milk, no sugar, no salt, no anything else! The rest of The Family think I'm odd but that's how I like my porridge....

I'm an oats and water girl too - but .... then I have to add sultanas and a banana and the kids love a teeny tiny sprinkle of brown sugar on top - I call it 'caramel' porridge, you should see how quickly they eat it then!

I have to have at least a pinch of salt when cooking it otherwise I find it fairly tastless, & then brown sugar on top ...mmmm.

Just so your prewarned your getting full blame for my latest blog post http://kscraftycorner.blogspot.com/2010/03/cutlery-resin-jewellery.html :D

Yeuck!! Porridge with just oats and water?! You just reminded me of the way I used to have porridge at my Nana's house... it was a solid, bowl-shaped lump swimming in milk and you could spin it round with your spoon. And there was always a layer of dissolved sugar on top. Sounds foul but I remember it being perfect!

What you refer to as "porridge" is "oatmeal" where I am. :o) And I don't think I could ever eat mine plain. I add salt, milk, brown sugar and cinnamon. Maybe I'll make some this morning...

I need maple syrup in my oatmeal, otherwise it is too paste like for me. Blackberry preserves are good too

Thats ok lol - I like my porridge raw with apple sauce (kind of cold stewed apples that comes in a pot over here - a bit like apple sauce sold for babies lol) so I mix oats into apple sauce and eat that with a little cinnamon sometimes. Cold.

Blue skies and sunshone are always good :)
