I Hate Squirrels...

I'm not keen on squirrels.

I can trace my dislike to a particular childhood incident when I was set upon and viciously attacked by a large, rabid squirrel.

Well, OK, it was a baby squirrel, and I was trying to stroke it (not knowing any better), but it did have VERY sharp teeth.... It latched onto my finger, and I had to shake my hand and eventually bash the creature against the fence to make it let go :-(

(Squirrels aren't keen on me. They maybe trace their dislike to the same childhood incident.)

That said, I am impressed at their ingenuity and agility!

Sneaky, huh?!

PS I know you already think I'm nuts, but I'm still trying to squirrel away a few more votes - it would make me so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed if you could please vote here! Many thanks xxx

Sounds exactly like me and penguins (although I'm very glad I didn't try bashing it against the fence. Eurgh.)

As long as you keep coming up with such very clever reminders, I will keep voting. I was very disappointed to see that Shimelle had to take the tally down. :(

I had a similar encounter with a wild cat. I only walked past it and it threw itself at me, sank it's teeth into my calf muscle and then ran off! I ended up in A&E for about an hour. And people wonder why I don't like cats. Yet put me in a house where a cat lives and I guarantee they will seek me out and drape themselves around me!
My daughter had a squirrel that used to hide beneath a car on the opposite side of the road to where she lived in Sheffield while at uni. It waited until the girls came down the road, and then just before they got to their gate, he would dash across the road and chase them down the path!
ps you have my vote!

We knew a couple who set up an obstacle course in their back garden to try and outwit the squirrels because they kept eating the bird food. The squirrels still won - it was quite amusing to watch them.

the squirrels in my parents' garden outwit every attempt to keep them away from the birdfood - they are so agile and clever. But yes they do have sharp teeth

Do you remember when a similar obstacle course was used in a commercial? Used to make me smile.

Got to love the sneaky little bugger stealing something from the vendor :)
