Doctor Who?

To my darling The Doctor, I wish you a very happy Valentine's Day :-) Love you xxxxxx

To my dear The Blog Visitors, I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day too! :-)

On the right you can see my card for The Doctor - the one I mentioned here. The design was inspired by this post by Deb, and she saw the idea here. You can also see the writing paper Deb made, inspired by that same idea, in my post here. When the card is closed the little banners show against the red background:

On the left is the card I made for our friends' baby girl who is being baptised today. The hearts are funny little gel shapes which can be stuck onto windows or bathroom tiles - I've put them onto pieces of acetate in each aperture but they can easily be removed and used to decorate the baby's bedroom. They represent God's love but I thought they were a nice way to wish you all a happy Valentine's too :-)

I also thought it was a good opportunity to tell you a little bit about The Doctor! Elizabeth noticed that in one of my posts I'd accidentally applied the label 'Doctor Who' instead of 'The Doctor', which I have now amended. However, it wasn't so far off! You see, my The Doctor is an Academic The Doctor rather than a Medical The Doctor. In fact, he is a specialist in history. So he takes me on a wonderful journey through time, you see?! Also, we live in The Tardis - it's significantly bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. (Unfortunately our garden is rather smaller on the outside than it appears from the inside.) Plus he's as gorgeous as David Tennant ;-) I'm so happy to be his companion through life :-) (Still not getting a K-9, though, however much The Girl might beg....)

One last thing! If you wanted to show *me* a little bit of love this Valentine's Day, I'd really appreciate your vote.... Thank you! xx

Happy Valentines Day Mel. <3 You got my vote (again) but you're going to have to do a little better at begging if you are going to beat Iara... :(

Happy Valentines Day to you and yours Mel. Isn't it funny how we form pictures of the people we "know" through the internet, I had always just assumed that your The Doctor was a medical doctor. Just shows how wrong we can be.
Hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy/ed the baptism.

Absolutely adorable cards, Mel. I LOVE the way you used the heart garland for the card - and great idea for use of the gel shapes!!!

Here's wishing you a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Hey! What's with wishing The Doctor a happy Valentine's day before The Blog Visitors? What sort of priority is that...?

Love the card - I hadn't realized before that it was a window card - that makes it even better! Off to vote for you (again).

Aha! I love getting little snippets of information about you. The Doctor chose his companion well. The aperture for the sewing is very effective. And the baptism card is delightful. We used to have some gel shapes .....
