9 of 365

We had friends round for lunch on Saturday 9th January, so I did a spot of baking:

No recipe required for this one! Just roll out shortcrust pastry (bought or homemade), cut circles, pop into a cupcake tin and spoon jam into the middle of each. Bake for about 20 minutes at 200oC (180oC fan oven) till the pastry is golden brown. Don't put too much jam in though or it will boil over and make a right mess of the tin!

I also made:

a Victoria sponge, and this slice is the Something I Ate Today part of my Project 365 :-)

Oh, tempting jam-tarts! I may seek to be Miss Popularity in this house and follow suit.

..and here is me thinking 365 was all about photographs...not cakes! I was so misled!!! haha!! loving the pictures! I've been taking mine but need to catch up and post my four layouts next week. Having fun though!

I love the look of these pastry tarts! These would be good done with strawberry jam to match the Valentine theme bridal shower I'm hosting the day before V-day. :o)

Victoria Sponge cake - oh how I could eat you right now!
I can see that being blog-friends with you is going to test my dieting willpower to the limit!
There's something about a slice of homemade cake, supermarket versions just cannot compare.
