On January 23rd I turned the above into a filing cabinet :-) And all without swearing! (But look out for a future confession...)
I'm definitely the DIY-er in our household. The Doctor, being very much The Academic Type, is not exactly what you might call practical. He is very helpful when I tell him exactly what to do, but he doesn't quite manage to 'see' how things should go. (This is fine - I'm plenty practical myself, and happy to take on the DIY tasks in the house. He does all the heavy lifting and brute force bits. We're a good team.)
I also turned eggs, mushrooms and cheese into this omelette:

I live with the king of the DIY - it is both a blessing and a curse ;-)
The omelette looks quite delicious as I get ready to eat tea myself!
there you go......tempting me with food again !!! lol
well done with being the capable one though - i have to sit watching while he insists he knows exactly what hes doing....... yeah right!
I normally get to read the instructions after DH has already started!! It turns out ok with a bit of team work.
Mr M does not do DiY. He says he will stick to his job and employ someone else to do their job. Then he can complain if they do it wrong and not have to look at the complete mess he made himself. As I grew up in a household wher my father could do all the fixing, plumbing, electrical and construction stuff and my mother could wallpaper and paint like a prefessional - oh, and do plastering too, it was a bit of a shock to marry a man who doesn't do any of it. I soon got used to it though LOL
That's funny! It's the other way round in our house. Although my SIL would say that my academic brother is the world's worst d-i-y-er
Yay! Another DIY-er like me! My only problem is lack of strength or stamina, so I need D. around to do the tough bits for me (like when I was trying to build the shelf unit and desk for my new workroom!). That photo of bits-of-filing-cabinet is ace!
The omlette has made me hungry - and I only just had lunch... perhaps at tea-time.
I love putting stuff like that together! My hubby does ok for himself, and if he's around I let him take over but it's hard not to put in my two-cent-worth! ;o) It drives me crazy because he doesn't like to read/follow the directions!
We're a bit of a diy team in this household. I read the instructions while he forges ahead with the project. I then make the suggestions that he ignores when things go slightly wrong. I'm also on hand with plasters for dealing with the inevitable accident and a cup of tea at the end!
wish i could have that omelette for my breakfast...
can't wait to hear the confession regarding the DIY project!
Think I'm in an identical situation to Debs14!!
Though I am the painter in our house.
I find things turn out as they should be when I make them myself, my DH may like to think otherwise but I beg to differ!!
Your DH sounds very similar to mine!
I am hopeless at such DYI projects, but my husband is totally handy. Fortunately, he taught both my kids to be very competent DYIers. Good thing as my son-in-law is not at all handy with these kind of projects. Can't wait to see the finished cabinet.
Good Job on your projects..... yumm yummm plate of goodness there.
