I can see Christmas

On December 9th (who said these pages should be done in order?!) I went into our nearest city to do a bit of Christmas shopping. And, of course, I had my camera with me. I spotted a few signs of Christmas as I wandered round:

There were so many pictures I wanted to include on this page! I used a page protector designed to hold ATCs, baseball cards, that kind of thing; it was too tall to fit in my 8x8 album so I trimmed off the top row of three pockets, making sure they were still sealed at the bottom, and put that in my album separately. That gave me 18 spaces for photos, title and extra embellishments.

I trimmed offcuts of background papers to size and added stickers for the title (after painting some of the letters in gold acrylic paint).

I'm thinking I might swap these photos round and have the tree in the middle for a better balance, what do you think?

More offcuts, an Elle's Studio number, flower and gem from Shimelle's kit.

More offcuts, plus a cardstock button (also from the kit), tied with a scrap of twill.

The remaining page protectors from the pack will be very useful for documenting favourite Christmas tree ornaments, different foods, and so on :-)

Are there many signs of Christmas where you are?

I love the shop window with the 'Christmas will be on 25th December' sentiment! So true. Why do we always get taken by surprise? We do have a lot of warning it is on its way! I think I am hit by the 'I refuse to start shopping in October' bug, which follows onto 'November? Pah! still too early' and then the 'Oh my goodness, it's December and I haven't bought a thing.
Next year I'll be organised. Yeah, right .....

I love this take on the prompt! Makes me wish I was doing a bigger album this year... I haven't decided how I'm going to fit "what I see" on a 4x6 spread.

Love all these photos...xmas is allowed to be everywhere now it's December.I'm off to Canterbury on Sunday...you've inspired me to take my camera.
What date do you think they'll make christmas next year then? Do you think it will be a 'movable feast' like Easter?!!

Oh I see that is so clever!!! Lovely page!

Do you not feel silly taking pictures of shops? I always feel self concious as I wonder what people will be thinking of me! LOL!!

Oh, I've always loved Ali Edward's card pages (and always wondered what they'd look like done by a mere mortal!) and they look fab! Love all of the photographs too :)

Yay! Cool photo page! I agree with you about swapping the gingerbread house and the Christmas tree, but otherwise I think it's just perfect!

I haven't been into town recently, so haven't seen much "Christmas" yet! I did mooch round the Christmas department in Ikea on Tuesday though.

Great idea Mel, yes, I'd put the photo of the tree between the photos of the gingerbread.
We have plenty of Christmas things in the supermarkets and the shopping centres and some shopping strips have banners on the light poles - I was chatting with another Australian (taking JYC) and we are finding that things are so different here .... it seems so more encompassing in the US and the UK - perhaps it's your weather? For us it's summer and the end of the year and holidays not just a concentrated event - not sure if I'm making sense for all of this enormous comment ;-) In a nutshell - it's a bit different here!

Fantastic! These are exactly the kinds of pictures that you will look back on in twenty years and say, "oh wow - look at that!"

The photos are great! And so is the idea of the sectioned page protector. I did the same thing last week, but I've gotten a bit behind.
