Dear Santa...

Every year, as a fundraiser for our school, I'm in charge of collecting in any letters to Santa, packaging them up, sending them to him, then sorting his replies. He gives out the replies when the children visit his grotto at the Christmas fair. (Yep, I'm a little Elf. Or do I mean mElf?)

Often the letters are beautifully illustrated:

And often they are beautifully written! Here are a few extracts from this year's letters, original spellings preserved:

Dear Father Christmas, I would like things with reindeers on. Have a great Christmas. I love reindeers. you can bring any things ells.

I like chocolate on christmas. Does Rudolf exist?

Dear father christmas, I have been a very good girl this year. please can I have a black micro scooter. can you please also make my friend better in time for christmas. thank you.

Dear santer, for christmas I would like a reel gutar, lego, flowes and a rabbit. My fafrot christmas diners are roste diner, prawn cocktail and christmas puding.

Dear father christmas I hope you are well I hope you are not to bissy plees can I hav a barby that you pres a butin on its leg and it has wings.

Dare Santa I wish you a mery day I wund wot I wud get

To Santa claws, I cannot wait until christmas this year! I am not going to stay up late as I usually do, in case you arrive early. I just want to ask you a question: Do you get any presents at christmas?

Dear Santa, I have been trying hard to be a good boy but it is not easy.

Dear Santa, For christmas I would like a case for my pink guitar because my sister she knocks it all ove the place sh's a monkey, but it's not alway about the presents it's all about Jesus.

Dear Santa i like your suit I think you are very. nice. and kind because you bring all the toys and ciris piresents

Deae Santa, How are you? I hope your Elves are working hard.

Dear Father Christmas, I hope you and the raindears are well. Would you like a mince pie, some milk and some carots for the raindears?

dear Father christmas, I hope you don't get A cold Like my dad.

Dear Father Christmas, At Christmas time I like to eat snow!

Which one is your favourite? For me I think it has to be the little boy who's trying so hard to be good, but not finding it easy. (Although eating snow is a close second.)

Children are wonderful and I love their innocence.

Dear Melf (so perfect for you!),
They are all adorable! I think the best is the one asking for her friend to get better (and who doen't want chocolate for Christmas?)

Maybe you're a MILF? Ever thought about that? Tee hee x

PS My favourite has to be the kid who wanted to check whether Santa got any presents. How thoughtful! :)

They're all lovely! I'm hard pushed to pick a favourite, maybe the child who wants to know if Santa gets presents.

Hands down it is the little boy trying to be good - the sentiment of the boy with the pink guitar is lovely as well.
