Another calendar!

Because I am An Idiot, I forgot to include mention of another Advent calendar related item in my post earlier today. (*doh!*)

Every December I re-read a book. It is this book:

It's a story within a story, and it involves an Advent calendar. There are 24 chapters, one for each door of the calendar. I try to read a chapter each day, just like opening the calendar doors each day. What usually happens is that I get to about December 12th, get really into the story, and finish the book in one sitting. Oops....

As usual, this year, I resolve to make the book last.

I'll let you know what actually happens.

What a cool idea! I'll have to look for it. My favorite Christmas book is A Child's Christmas in Wales, the edition with the wood cut illustrations. I lost my copy and keep planning to get another one.

It's a great tradition non-the-less Mel. She's a great author too. I'm just about to bring the Christmas books out - we get the kids a new one each every year ... actually they like to read some of them all of the time, but I like the idea of having them out together.

Great tradition. Is it OK for a former librarian to admit that she hasn't seen a copy of that one? My mum used to read us the chapter about Christmas from Wind In The Willows every year
