OK then, here we go :-)

First The Children, The Hamster and I picked the winner of the grand prize of my Blogtoberfest giveaway. This was the prize, remember?

(Plus a couple of little surprises, plus one of my notebooks.)

And the winner is.... Oh, but first I'd better tell you how we picked this winner!

OK, well, I wanted to be able to identify not just the winning name, but the exact winning comment, so I began by colour-coding all the entries. I printed them and cut out each name on a separate strip of paper, which The Girl and I then folded neatly:

We scattered the folded strips over the dining room floor, got The Hamster out of his cage and into his exercise ball, and let him run around for a bit. The idea was that when he stopped (however briefly), we'd see if his ball was on top of one of the strips, and that would be the winner. Hmm. Firstly, he rarely stops:

That yellow blur? That's The Hamster!

Then, when he did stop, the first winners he picked were: (1) My Foot, and (2) The Wall Unit. *sigh*

Then at last he did stop! And right on top of a slip of paper! The winner is:

My clever colour-coding tells me that Grethic's winning comment was in answer to my 8th October post, which summarised all the ways to win. Grethic said:

One finally run around the block, trying to make sure I've posted everywhere to get max entries into your giveaway - really enjoying your blog and your craft tutorials
Thanks, Grethic :-) Looks like your final run around was worth it! Congratulations!

But all is not yet over.... I have two runners up prizes to award, in honour of receiving 1000 hits (just checked and I appear to have now had 1500!! Woo-hoo!!) Anyway...

Here The Girl and The Boy helped me out. We put all the slips into my rainbow hat ('cos it was the one most commented on in my Fashion Forward hats post!)

Then The Girl picked a name:

And The Boy picked a name:

(Can I just please apologise for the state of The Children's nails?!)

Congratulations to DELicious Designz and Weza!! You've each won a little surprise goodie bag :-) They had each commented on my original giveaway post; DELicious Designz said
I have recently learnt "don't try to achieve the pictured result in a cook book as you will only be disappointed"
and Weza said
I have just learn't but havent tried to do it yet, how to make a very cute picture frame. :)

Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks to you both for sharing what you'd learnt :-)

Are we done yet? Why, no, dear reader! Because of course I have also been running a 100th post and 50th follower giveaway! Remember:

And how did we pick this winner? Well, I counted up the number of entries, then cut up a small apple into that many pieces. We then challenged The Hamster to see how many of the pieces he could fit into his mouth at once. First The Children built a little Lego Duplo 'holding area' for him:

We chucked in all the pieces of apple, _gently_ chucked in The Hamster, and let him do his stuff:

Of course, being the same The Hamster as discussed here, 'his stuff' also included trying to escape:

But not before stuffing 11 pieces of apple into his pouches!

I randomly shuffled the names before counting down to the 11th; the winner is therefore glitterbygrammie, who said
Congrats on your 100th post.
Thanks, and congratulations to you, glitterbygrammie!

Well done to Grethic, DELicious Designz, Weza and glitterbygrammie! If I have a way to contact you by email, an email will be on its way to you. Or you might find a comment on your blog. Basically, I'll do my best to track you down! ;-)

Thanks everyone for joining me through Blogtoberfest. I'd love you to keep checking back to see how I get on with Blogging for Scrapbookers, Journal Your Christmas, and everything else I'm planning to be doing over the next couple of months... And look out for more giveaways, too!

That was fun :-)

Me? Overcomplicate things? Never.... ;-)
