It's 25th of Blogtober and I need your help...

Edited to say: GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED!

There's less than a week to go till I pick the winner of my giveaway (so there's still time to enter if you haven't already done so!)

The thing is, I fully intended to use a random number generator, like this:

(Numbers used here for illustrative purposes only and any relation to actual number of entries and/or actual winning entries is purely coincidental...)

That idea appealed to the mathematical and technological parts of my brain.

But having been avidly reading lots (and I mean _lots_!) of other blogs throughout Blogtoberfest, I've come across various other ways of randomly choosing a winner - and now I want to do something different, too! The best and most original methods have got to be those used by The Labradors at 2paw. You read it a-right, the dogs choose the winners! Check out the Dog Lotto, the Schmacko Decider and also another Schmacko Method! Then there are the cute little kiddles picking the name out of a hat, and asking someone to 'pick a number between ... and ...', and others that for now I seem to have forgotten, *doh*...

I could get The Boy and The Girl to pick, that's one idea. But I'd like to do something a bit more unusual. I thought about possibly using The Hamster - he has a little exercise ball (a new, stronger one since the great escape!!) I could maybe write the names of all the entrants on a big sheet of paper and get him to roll around on it in his ball, and see where he stops? At the moment that's my best idea...

But this is where perhaps you can help me :-) Suggest a way of picking a random winner by leaving a comment on this post, and I'll give you an extra entry into the giveaway in return. And don't worry if you don't feel terribly inspired, you can just say 'Use random.org'' and I'll let you have the entry anyway, 'cos I'm feeling generous! ;-)

I think getting a pet to somehow choose is a fair idea and I love the pics that this way makes!

Your hampster is DAMN cute, I think hampster lotto is a great idea, really, but DOES he stop, or does he just keep going like that battery bunny....?!

I never met The Hamster! I have a The Hamster too - we were so meant to be friends. It was destined!

Um, maybe we could count the number of embellishments in one of your colour co-ordinated jars of goodies and check who that corresponds to? x

We used to have a variety show here in Australia and they had a segment called 'chook lotto' - a big human dressed as a duck would roll frozen chooks down the chute and one would come out at a time and the number on the chook would correspond with the winners number. Very wierd I know but perhaps the animal idea is a good one as this segment seems to have a fond place in the hearts of many an Australian of a certain age.Plus the hamster is very cute!

Personally, I use random.org, so always suggest that to others, too. :) I know -- uninspired. ;)
