Day 11, still Blogtober-festering...

Blogtober-festering. Isn't that a delightful expression?! Thanks, Clair! I'd rather think of it as the 11th day of the Blogtober-festivities :-) And I'm still here, though only just, today...

We were away for the weekend; a church weekend away in mid-Wales. It was great in many ways but it was sooo cold at night and we didn't get enough sleep. And my back's playing up again, which didn't help :-( I'm trying to strike the right balance between exercising it so it doesn't seize up, and resting it so it doesn't hurt more. I do NOT want to be laid up and off work for a couple of weeks, as happened last year!

Anyway, that's basically my excuse for failing to provide a pic of the day or craft of the day today. Despite my Blogtoberfest pledges. Well, I did say wherever possible - so I'm not going to beat myself up! At least I managed to post :-)

While I'm here: Amy asked about the bath creamers from Day 9. Amy, I reckon children could cope with the stirring and so on, but they'd need close supervision - and the stage where you make the shapes might be a bit tricky. To be honest I'd be a little wary of doing it with children of that age. Have you thought about doing candles with them? You can get soft wax that you can just mould into shape like clay or playdoh. That might be a safer option. Not sure of stockists but if I come across any I'll let you know. And if anyone else has ideas for Christmas gifts you can handmake with your kids, or knows of an interesting link to such a craft, please do pass them on - I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be interested! (Oh, and Amy also asked how long they took to make - a group of 16 women who all had to take turns in stirring and then take turns wearing the 2 pairs of gloves, and also gossipped and drank coffee throughout, managed to make one each in about an hour!)

Sorry to hear your back is playing up, I hope you can get something sorted soon.

I think on that advice I'll wait until they are a bit older!
