Blogtoberfest Day 7 and All About Me Challenge

A week into Blogtoberfest, how's everyone doing? I'm still feeling kinda under the weather, but I'm determined to keep up with this blogging business, and so far so good :-)

Craft of the day:

The new All About Me Challenge is about how you get pigeon-holed. It reminded me of this LO - not a new one, but it's exactly how I would answer this challenge! I was giving some thought to all my 'names' - or how people might label me - perhaps I was feeling a bit too much of a mother and nothing else at the time, 'cos much as might love being a mother (sometimes...) it's not the whole of who I am, you know? So I listed a few of my names (Melanie, Mel, daughter, wife, mother, sister, teacher, friend) and created little flaps for each, under which there's a photo of me in that role (respectively: childhood, adulthood, babyhood, wedding pic, me & kids, me & siblings, me in graduation gear, me with friends) and a brief description of how that 'label' applies to me. But as the title says, I am me! and any of those labels only gives you part of the story...

I used lots of Basic Grey papers for this LO, plus a bit of stamping, Dymo labels (appropriate! Deliberately so!), BG stickers and the larger letters and flower are hand-cut. Oh, and some inking to define the edges a little. Here's a little peek under some of the flaps (with a few identifying details removed):

Hoping to add a 'pic of the day' later, but I haven't chosen one yet!

That rocks. It's like a little advent calendar of Mel. And I don't know if it's intentional, but I like the way that the ! looks a bit like a l :)
